Rachel Weisz and Rachel McAdams dance with the devil in the newest trailer for Disobedience.
Ronit (Weisz) returns home after decades of exile when her rabbi father dies. Thrust back into her devout Orthodox Jewish community, rumors of her transgressions with a childhood friend resurface and a forbidden passion with the now married Esti (Adams) reignites.
The tension is palpable in the trailer as Ronit and Esti dip their toes in adulterous waters and push the boundaries of sexuality, faith, and love. "Why did you get married?" Ronit questions Esti.
Esti sadly responds, "I think he felt that marriage would cure me."
The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Naomi Alderman and directed by Oscar-Nominated Sebastián Lelio (A Fantastic Woman).
Disobedience hits theatres on April 27th, 2018. Watch the trailer below.
