First-Look of Jamie Clayton as Pinhead in Hulu's Hellraiser

Hulu’s upcoming Hellraiser remake starring Jamie Clayton as the iconic character of Pinhead is closer than ever to dropping on the streaming service. Directed by David Bruckner (The Ritual, The Night House), this new movie will also feature Goran Visnjic, Brandon Flynn, Hiam Abbass, Odessa A’zion, Drew Starkey, Selina Lo, and Adam Faison, among others.

Horror fans are eagerly awaiting to watch the new film, and Hulu is now ready to share a first-look of Clayton’s Pinhead. As seen below, the actress shared this first picture on social media.

“We knew we wanted Pinhead to be a woman,” Bruckner told EW. “Jamie was just the right person for the role. A person’s identity can be really exciting for a role in many ways, but I have to emphasize that Jamie absolutely killed, that’s how we got there.”

According to the director, though, fans of the original 1987 classic shouldn’t expect Clayton’s performance to be an impersonation of what actor Doug Bradley did when bringing Pinhead to life. “We didn’t want to do a Doug Bradley impression, we just didn’t think that’s possible to do,” Bruckner explained. “There will be suffering, but you’re going to get a sense of what Pinhead’s desires might be in a way that hits a little different.”

Best known for her characters on The L Word: Generation Q, Sense8, Roswell, New Mexico, and Designated Survivor, Clayton will be breaking ground as a trans actress playing Pinhead in the Hellraiser remake.

Hellraiser premieres Friday, October 7 on Hulu.
