The third Trump child set the record straight about that on-air "coming out" gaffe from earlier in the week.
In case you missed it, Gay Twitter was set ablaze earlier this week when Eric Trump, Donald Trump's third child and the executive vice president of the Trump Organization, seemingly "came out" as part of the LGBTQ+ community during a recent appearance on Fox & Friends...
“Eric Trump: "The LGBT community, they are incredible. And you should see how they come out in full force for my father every single day. I'm part of that community, and we love the man."”— Bobby Lewis (@Bobby Lewis) 1601381676
"The LGBT community, they are incredible. And you should see how they come out in full force for my father every single day. I'm part of that community, and we love the man," Eric said, responding to a question posed by host Ainsley Earhardt about a supposed demographic of "secret Trump voters" and a story about an unidentified lesbian Trump supporter.
Because Eric literally said he was "a part" of the queer community, many people took that to mean he was coming out of the closet about his sexuality and, considering his father's administration and the harmful, awful anti-trans, anti-LGBTQ+ track record they have, were rightfully upset.
“Was not expecting to wake up to Eric Trump coming out on FOX & Friends, but good for him I guess.

Maybe he can get his dad to stop fucking over the LGBTQ community now. https://t.co/JvxFIg7AVP”— Katie Hill (@Katie Hill) 1601394701

In the aftermath of the on-air gaffe, though, Eric is now clarifying that he is, in fact, not queer and not a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
"To clarify, many of our close friends are part of the LGBT community, which was the intent of my statement — the left has taken that vote for granted for a long time and support from the gay community for my father is incredible," Eric told The New York Post in a follow-up to his Fox & Friends appearance.
"As to me personally, as I think you know, I am a happily married man to my wife, Lara," he continued, with The Post also noting that Eric does not identify as bisexual.
Now that this embarrassing moment in queer political history has been cleared up and clarified, we never have to talk about Eric Trump ever being a part of the diverse, vibrant, and lively nationwide community of queer folks ever again!
