While many members of the LGBTIA+ community are still rightfully bewildered by the election results, and nervous about the prospect of Donald Trump’s impending presidency, not every queer person is worried. In fact, some of our fellow community members actually voted for Trump, and were proud to let the world know on Instagram using the hashtag #GaysForTrump.

You read that right. Despite all of the bigoted rhetoric that his campaign has stirred up during the election cycle, and the notorious anti-LGBT record of his Vice Presidential pick Mike Pence (who still believes in conversion therapy and doesn't think trans people should be allowed to use public bathrooms that correspond to their gender identity), there are gay people who still believed Trump was the best person to become the leader of the United States.

Here are 9 of those #GaysForTrump, explaining the reasoning behind their controversial vote.
