Fresh off playing Club Skirts The Dinah this past weekend, the news is out that country singer Chely Wright is engaged to her girlfriend Laura Blitzer. Wright came out as a lesbian publicly just under a year ago, releasing her memoir Like Me: Confessions of a Heartland Country Singer and a very personal record Lifted Off the Ground.

Country singer Chely Wright and her wife Lauren Blitzer welcomed identical twin sons on Saturday, according to People.

Country singer Chely Wright, who came out as lesbian last year, married Lauren Blitzer in an interfaith ceremony Saturday at Blitzer’s aunt’s home in Connecticut. Wright met Blitzer, an LGBT rights activist, just two weeks after she came out. Saturday’s ceremony was officiated by both a minister and a rabbi because Wright is Christian and Blitzer is Jewish, People reports.
