According to a report by TV Line, ABC's longrunning primetime medical drama Grey's Anatomy has just cast up-and-coming actor Alex Landi as the show's first gay male surgeon.

Landi, a New York native of Korean and Italian descent, will be playing a recurring character by the name of Dr. Nico Kim for Grey's upcoming 15th season. As TV Line points out, Grey's has had plenty of LGBT representation in the past, most notably with fan favorite characters Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw).

We can't wait to see Landi in action when the new season of Grey's Anatomy premieres on September 27
