Tituss Burgess Defends His Andy Cohen Comments: 'I Said What I Said'

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star stopped by Wendy Williams' show and addressed his recent (and tense) appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

Earlier this week, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt actor and Broadway star Tituss Burgess stopped by Andy Cohen's Bravo talk show Watch What Happens Live, and after being asked about Eddie Murphy (his co-star in the upcoming film Dolemite Is My Name) and his problematic past in regards to gay jokes, things got really kinda intense.

Fortunately, Tituss shut down Andy's shady attempt at trying to get him to comment on the comedy legend's past, and he even went on Instagram to call out Andy for what he really is: a "messy queen."

Well, during a recent appearance on Wendy Williams' talk show, Tituss stood by his comments about the Bravo personality.

"I will not tolerate the dismantling of anyone’s legacy, especially not my own," Tituss told Wendy. "Who we were speaking about has done a beautiful job being the comedic giant that he is. He has a wonderful movie coming out and I was not going to participate in talking about that. I said what I said."

He continued:

"Tituss will not be trapped. We have way too much work to do, we have far more important things to talk about in this nation right now, especially what is going on politically. I wasn’t going to waste time digging up something that happened a while ago. We’ve all moved past from it and we’ve all learned from it."

Watch Tituss break it all down to Wendy (around the 3:35 mark) in the video below.
