Netflix's latest young adult series, The Baby-Sitters Club, includes a heartwarming transgender storyline that is so pure that the streaming platform took to social media to share its impact with the world.
Based on the best-selling children's book series, the show follows middle-schoolers Kristy, Mary-Anne, Claudia, Stacey, and Dawn as they launch their own babysitting business and juggle all the problems that come with it.
Rose Dommu, a writer and transgender woman, took over Netflix's official Twitter account earlier today to talk about the show's fourth episode and why a "depiction of a young trans girl made me cry happy tears," and the accompanying thread is so wholesome.
"Imagine the young trans children who are going to watch this & see a version of themselves who is actualized, supported, and HAPPY," she writes.
