The 'Proud Family' Returns in 'Louder & Prouder' Reboot

The Proud Family reunion is nearly here! Disney has revived the beloved 2000s animated series for a whole new generation.
All of our favorite characters are back, including Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud, and all of the original voice actors are reprising their roles all these years later. The cast is rounded out with Lizzo, Tina Knowles, Jaden Smith, Brenda Song, Normani, Chance the Rapper, Eva Longoria, and many more.
What makes it even sweeter for us, the reboot is looking queerer than ever by featuring a slew of LGBTQ+ actors and characters. "Prouder" in the title feels all the more fitting.
Scroll down to meet a few new characters and all of the LGBTQ+ actors announced so far!
Keke Palmer
The actor will play Maya Lebowitz, who is "extremely mature for her age and relentlessly marches to the beat of her own drum. She and Penny apparently clash at first but eventually earn each other's respect."
Zachary Quinto & Billy Porter
Quinto and Porter will play Barry Leibowitz-Jenkins and Randall Leibowitz-Jenkins, Maya's mixed-race adoptive dads.
EJ Johnson
Johnson plays Michael Collins, "Penny's best guy friend who is a non-conforming trendsetter, serving fierce looks at school and on the basketball court."
