At the Human Rights Campaign's National Dinner in Washington, D.C. this past weekend, Oscar-winning actress and longtime LGBT activist/ally Anne Hathaway accepted the award for National Ally for Equality.
"Authentic equality doesn’t prioritise sexual orientation, it doesn’t put any one gender or race at the centre," Hathaway said during her speech, talking about what true equality is. "It doesn’t erase our identities either. What it does do is centralise love. And when love is fully centralised, every door opens for everybody."
