What's a better way to celebrate love than by hosting 100 weddings in one day?
Brent and Josh Kilmer-Purcell, founders of NYC beauty company Beekman 1802, are hosting a massive celebration of love this Pride Month, titled Let Love Bloom.
In honor of their sixth wedding anniversary, as well as the day the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage 6 years ago in 2015, Beekman 1802 is inviting 100 couples atop Matrimony Hill (the highest point of Beekman Farm in Sharon Springs, New York) where they were married years ago, to say their vows underneath a beautiful Glass House Art Installation designed by Tom Fruin.
"Upon arrival of their special day, they will be lovingly greeted, chauffeured to their one-of-a-kind glass alter, and celebrated with an official ordained ceremony," reads the press release. "The newlyweds will receive a photograph and are then encouraged to visit downtown following their nuptials to revel with loved ones or toast with a glass of bubbly!"
Both Brent and Josh understand the love and joy a wedding brings to family. "The favorite memory from our wedding was the simplicity of it. Instead of having people bring gifts, we had them bring a prepared recipe that their family always serves at their family gatherings and celebrations. There were about 300 guests at the wedding and seeing that long table with all of those heirloom recipes and hearing the stories behind them made the day so special," said the Kilmer-Purcells. "This past year has made us all realize the importance of 'moments' both big and small. We thought allowing people to get married 'inside a work of art' was a wonderful way to celebrate love, commitment, beauty, and kindness."
The weddings are available to all couples who would like to participate, no matter their gender or sexuality. Tickets are $100 per couple and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Ali Forney Center to support homeless LGBTQ+ youth. Register here.
