X Factor UK hopeful and out lesbian Samantha (Sami) Brookes wowed the judges at her audition Sunday with a stirring rendition of Whitney Houston's “One Moment in Time” that had judge Kelly Rowland leaping to her feet and fist-pumping even before Sami was finished blowing the doors off of the auditorium.

Following her standing ovation for the performance Sami, who hails from North Wales, revealed to the Daily Star that her inspiration for winning the talent contest is to one day be able to adopt children as she is unable to have kids on herself.

“I don't really have any contact with my mum so when I have children I want to be really close to them,” Sami told the Daily Star. “I want to be the perfect mother.”

Sami also talked about her girlfriend, saying that she's been with her for a year. But don't expect Sami's girlfriend to become a big part of the show, as she also basically said she's not ready to share her with the public.

“She's my rock, she takes everything in her stride, she's amazing but I want to keep her private,” Sami told the Daily Star.
