Even the promise of a girl-on-girl kiss between costars Minka Kelly and Rachael Taylor could save the Charlie’s Angels' reboot. Following a slight uptick in ratings Thursday that wasn't enough to save the series ABC made the call to ax the show, according to Deadline.
Just yesterday a paparazzo's pic of costars Kelly and Taylor liplocking on set for an upcoming episode of Charlie’s Angels surfaced, but it looks as though the buzz of some girl / girl action wasn’t enough to keep the latest installment of the franchise from tanking.
Despite former big screen angel Drew Barrymore as executive producer the show just couldn’t find an audience and debuted with and maintained with paltry ratings. It didn’t help that the new series was also widely panned in critics’ circles.
Production on the show has been shut down but ABC intends to air the remaining episodes that have already been shot, according to Deadline.
