Earlier today we posted about The Voice’s out contestant Michelle Chamuel. Well, she’s not this season’s only out female contestant. On the third night of the blind auditions Miami native Karina Iglesias’ incendiary rendition of Melissa Etheridge’s “I’m the Only One” inspired Adam Levine and Blake Shelton to push their buttons for her.

A music teacher in Miami, Iglesias gave an interview to Lesbian Life in which she discussed any possible barriers she’s encountered as a lesbian musician.

“I know sometimes I don’t get certain work because of the way I look. I’m fine with that because at the end of the day I want to feel comfortable in my own skin. I’m not that feminine and not that masculine, I’m kind of in between,” Iglesias told Lesbian Life. “I want to give 100% but if I am not comfortable you’re only going to get about 50. I’m okay with it, I know other work will come.”

That said, it would appear that The Voice’s ‘blind audition’ structure was the perfect venue for Iglesias to showcase her extraordinary vocal prowess. After hearing Levine's and Shelton's pitches to get her on their respective teams, Iglesias chose Team Adam.
