Get Ready for a Lot More of Amber Tamblyn's Lesbian Character on 'Two and a Half Men'

Get ready for more of Amber Tamblyn's lesbian character!

It took just a week of Amber Tamblyn playing Jenny, the lesbian daughter of Charlie Sheen's departed character on Two and a Half Men, before she was upped to a series regular! The character, who leans toward her father Charlie Harper’s raunchier side, was created to shake things up at the testosterone heavy beach house, and CBS announced Wednesday that she is already been awarded series regular status.

“We thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be fun if she was just like her father,’” Patterson told EW last month.  "She’s a fun, hard-partying girl who loves everything her father did — including women — and has the same kind of confidence her father had. It brings the debauchery back to the show from when Charlie [Sheen] was on it. She’s going to turn their lives upside down a little bit."

Patterson promised that Tamblyn's character will bring home female paramours, which is sure to spark some discussion — and hopefully a limited amount of stereotypical dude-bro girl-on-girl jokes — among the two leading men on the show, played by Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher.

The actress, who also appeared in 127 Hours and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants films, has said that she considers herself part of the queer community, AfterEllen noted.

“I am straight, I’m just queer,” Amber said at TCA in 2011. “That means that I believe in queer lifestyle. I engage in queer lifestyle. I am part of the queer community. For the most part I’m straight, but I’m not gay and I don’t think I’m bi either. I’m queer and that just means that I am a part of the community.”
