The recent announcement of the nominations for the 14th Annual SATELLITE Awards by the International Press Academy (IPA) holds both good and bad news for the lesbian community. The good news is out lesbians Jane Lynch and Cherry Jones have been nominated for awards. The bad news is both of them can't win since they are competing in the same category - "actress in a supporting role in a series, miniseries or motion picture made for television."
Both actresses appear in shows on Fox TV -- Lynch as Sue Sylvester in Glee and Jones as President Allison Taylor in 24.

Lesbian favorite Kristin Chenoweth will receive a special achievement, outstanding guest star award for her appearance in an episode of Glee.
The awards, which recognize outstanding artist, films, television shows, DVDs and interactive media, will be presented December 20 in Los Angeles.
The IPA, founded in 1996, is among the largest and most diverse associations of professional entertainment journalists representing both domestic and foreign markets in print, television, radio, cable, new media, and the Internet. The organization strives to recognize the work of both established and developing independent filmmakers
