Elizabeth Hurley to Star as Wonder Woman's Arch Rival Who May or May Not Have a Lesbian Crush
Update: With a Lesbian Twist?! Wonder Woman’s latest television incarnation just picked up a super hot villain. British model and actress Elizabeth Hurley has signed on to play the paramount foe to Adrianne Palicki’s Diana Prince / Wonder Woman in the new NBC pilot. Find out which powerful adversary Hurley will play.
Hurley posted on Twitter,
@ElizabethHurley: “Thrilled to be doing the NBC pilot Wonder Woman. I’ll be playing the evil villain. Can’t wait.”
Rumors around the web have the gorgeous brunette pegged to play Veronica Cale, a Los Angeles professional rival of Diana Prince who has her own reasons to hate Wonder Woman.
TV Linedescribes the villainess in this brief breakdown:
Veronica Cale’s hatred of Wonder Woman seems to be founded in jealousy, as she believes if there is a Wonder Woman; it is her. Cale’s father left before she was born, her mother died early of cancer. Cale, however, was able to gain a number of doctorate degrees and become a self-made millionaire and philanthropist. These accomplishments, Cale believes, have made her more worthy of revere than being born into fame and riches, as she believes Diana was.
Basically, Hurley in the role of Cale will act more as “an “architect” villain than a straight-up toe-to-toe foe,” ScreenRant points out. “She could orchestrate plots against Wonder Woman over the course of a season, kind of like Lex Luthor on Smallville.”
Reports assure potential viewers, Hurley is locked into the series and settling her Visa now to bring a big beautiful does of attitude and ample threat to the new Wonder Woman.
UPDATE: E!Online is reporting there may eventually be some lesbian heat between Wonder Woman and her arch nemesis. In their character breakdown of Veronica Cale, they specifically say:
"She loves men, but likes women. There might be an unstated chemistry between her and Wonder Woman, at least on her side."
