Openly bi-sexual platinum recording artist Billie Myers ("Kiss the Rain") is taking her Pride to the street - the streets of New York City to be precise! Myers will perform on June 19, 2010 on the Central Park Summer Stage in Manhattan. During her performance, Myers will be premiering her newest single from her recent album Tea & Sympathy from her Fruit Loops record label. Myers has been a longtime advocate for the LGBT community. She recently attended Club Skirts The Dinah in Palm Springs where she promoted Tea & Sympathy and took hours out of her hectic schedule to chat with fans. Among the topics discussed: Depression, Suicide and her work with the JED Foundation.

As a woman diagnosed with depression Myersis localizing her efforts more specifically on the LGBT community, encouraging everyone — gay, straight, transgender, lesbian, bisexual — to get informed about and involved with the JED Foundation to fight depression. With the Pepsi Refresh challenger, Myers is determined to educate people about what depression is, how to recognize the warning signs, how to overcome it, shed light on how to help people suffering from depression - and overall, promote suicide prevention among young people.
