We are a generation that survives off technology. A text message or Facebook comment has a completely different meaning if you leave out the “lol” at the end. More than half of the previous generation doesn’t even know what “lol” means! What if we do away with the “middle-man” and get back to some human contact?
Katherine Brooks, director of Loving Annabelle, hopes to do just that this summer with her documentary FACE2FACE. Inspired by Katherine’s realization that most of the interaction we have on an everyday basis is with machines, creating the absence of human interaction we as humans depend on, she and her crew are going to take a road trip to meet 50 random Facebook friends… face-to-face. Fifty of nearly 5,000 friends she has will get the chance to meet Katherine Brooks, and answer some mentally and possibly emotionally, stimulating questions. Maybe they’ll manage to fit in a hug or two to satisfy Katherine’s craving for some real human contact!
Until then, she is looking for funding. She and her crew have 16 days to come up with the remaining $16K before they can set out on their adventure. Pledges can range from $1, which gets you a virtual hung, ironically enough, to $10K or more, which buys your way into all the premiers, dibs on seeing the footage before anyone else and credit as the Executive Producer of the film. Will they be able to do it in time? Not without your support! So, get to your sofa and start looking for some change so you can make your contribution.
