Oscar and Emmy nominee Minnie Driver has landed the lead in Ilene Chaiken’s new pilot Hail Mary, about a suburban single mom who teams up with a ‘streetwise’ hustler to solve crimes, according to Deadline.

Last week Deadline reported that L Word creator Chaiken would join Hail Mary as Executive Producer and showrunner, although there has been no word on what will happen with Rhodes to Recovery, a lesbian themed medical drama Chaiken was reportedly developing for CBS.

Driver made a splash with a thriving film career in the nineties in films including Good Will Hunting, for which she scored an Oscar nomination, Sleepers and Circle of Friends. She then made a name for herself as a comedic actress on the small screen as a mistress going toe to toe with Megan Mullally’s Karen Walker on Will and Grace. Driver also drew critical acclaim and an Emmy nomination for her starring role on FX’s darkly comic The Riches, which lasted for just two seasons.

Her most recent role was in the Hillary Swank starrer Conviction.
