Newly Out Amber Heard Does 'Playboy'?

Amber Heard, the 24-year-old starlet who came out late last year at an event for GLAAD, is in negotiations to star in the NBC drama Playboy.

The actress, who starred in Pineapple Express, The Stepfather and will be seen later this year opposite Johnny Depp in The Rum Diaries, is being eyed for a role in the hour-long drama set in the 1960s heyday of Playboy clubs. NBC picked up the pilot last month.

Heard told AfterEllen.comat the event in December: "I think when I became aware of my role in the media, I had to ask myself an important question: 'Am I part of the problem?' And I think that when millions and millions of hardworking, tax-paying Americans are denied their rights and denied their equality you have to ask yourself what are the factors that are an epidemic problem and that's what this is.”
