SheWired's Shot of the Day: January Jones is 'Mad Sexy' for 'W' Mag

There is a moment in just about every workday when we come across something sexy, gratuitous and completely pointless that we wish we could post but don't under the auspices of there being nothing lesbian about it. Well, we at SheWired have made an executive decision to just throw any of our pseudo-feminist caution to the wind and to just post our fave shot of the day... There is a moment in just about every workday when we come across something sexy, gratuitous and completely pointless that we wish we could post but don't under the auspices of there being nothing lesbian about it and often there being no redeeming value. In the accompanying interview with Lynn Hirschberg, Miss Jones tells W magazine that Betty wasn’t even originally intended to appear on the award-winning AMC series.

“There was no Betty in the pilot when I auditioned. Matthew Weiner, the creator of the show, had no intention of showing Don Draper’s home life. I read for Peggy two times — it was between me and Elisabeth Moss, who eventually got the part. At the end of the scene, there was a casual mention that Don was married. Matt went home that night and wrote two scenes that featured Betty. I auditioned a couple of days later, and he made me a verbal promise that the character would grow. I took the part on faith — there was no script or fleshed-out character or Betty plotline.”

Good thing we don’t have to imagine a world without ample access to the ravishing January Jones.
