Troye Sivan Wore a Jockstrap Under 2021 Met Gala Afterparty Dress

America! What do you think of in terms of fashion when you think of America? That's the question attendees of the 2021 Met Gala had to consider and for Troye Sivan that meant colors like black and white, New York City, and .... jockstraps.

The pop star turned up on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art Monday in a slinky, cut-out black dress, ready to see the new exhibition. When he reached the top of the stage for an interview with Keke Palmer, he rattled off his inspirations for the look — created by Joseph Altuzarra under his soon-to-launch "genderful" brand Altu — which included artist Robert Mapplethorpe. 

"I think of leather," he said, pointing to a leather strap around his arm. The look, which was completed with a pair of Rick Owens heels, was styled by Interview magazine editor in chief and Rihanna stylist Mel Ottenberg. "I just wanted to be hot." And hot he was.

Inside, Sivan mingled with literally every star we love and was apparently directed by Rihanna herself to have Tom Daley take a picture of him going to the bathroom. The evidence was posted to social media.

After the gala, as is custom, Sivan headed to the after party in a second look. Instead of black, the "Angel Baby" singer slipped into a white dress. The color difference made his jockstrap underneath more than evident.
