Lil Nas X has spent much of his rise to superstardom on Twitter, joking with fans, hitting back at homophobes — it’s even where he came out as gay. But for the last month and a half, he’s been notably absent from social media, and fans are getting concerned.

When we last heard from the “Old Town Road” rapper, he posted a series of since-deleted tweets talking about how he had come down with COVID.

“Now that I’m sure I won’t die from COVID I will now begin making mildly funny jokes about having it,” Lil Nas tweeted in late December. Another tweet saw him joking that “I’m not sure whether I’ve had the Omarion or Alicia Keys variant of COVID but this has not been a fun journey.”

All his COVID-related tweets were deleted not long after he first posted them, and he doesn’t appear to have posted anything since, on either Twitter or Instagram, both of which have his last posts dated December 6.

Bouncing from social media isn’t unheard of, but it’s out of the ordinary for Lil Nas, which has left some fans concerned — especially considering the content of his late December tweets.

Fortunately, some eagle-eyed fans caught wind of the concerns and made note of his appearances and activity in other people’s social media after December 6, which include hanging out with TikTok star Addison Rae in Turks and Caicos.

“He’s ok lol he just chilling,” Lil Nas’s brother, Robert Sleepy, posted in late January.

A social media break can be a great idea for anyone, even if fans are clearly missing his Twitter presence. And it’s clear that Lil Nas has remained busy during this hiatus — he had a single go platinum, received several nominations for the iHeartRadio Music Awards, and is set to have a comic book made about his rise to fame.

So have no fear, Lil Nas fans! It seems like everyone’s fave is doing just fine.
