My Chemical Romance's Frank Iero Wants to Sell Chest Binders as Merch

He hopes "to make some of you smile a little more."
Frank Iero, the former guitarist of pop-punk band My Chemical Romance, has come up with a beautiful way to support his transgender fans: selling chest binders as merch.
The musician is currently gearing up to tour his latest EP for his band, Frank Iero and the Future Violence. Over his decades-long career as a musician, Iero says he's been asked repeatedly to sell binders.Â
"Rarely do I take requests on these types of things because I tend to just make the type of sh*t I did (it's very selfish I know)," he wrote on Twitter but "I have seen quite a few requests for Binders though over the years."
He then asked fans to help educate him about manufacturers, styles, and preferred garments. "It's something if I can be honest I know very little about" but it sounds like he's committed to seeing "what’s available out there to make some of you smile a little more."
\u201cHi, sorry for the screen shot but i needed more characters. Please read and let me know. xofrnk\u201d— frnkiero: Party (goth) Dad (@frnkiero: Party (goth) Dad) 1648759801
The sentiment is very special to Iero's transgender fans, as binders aren't typically sold as artist merchandise and can be quite expensive. "This is absolutely fucking insane," one fan wrote. "Thank you so much. You don’t know how much this means to us."
Fingers crossed that this project comes to fruition!
