Jake Pates may not have medaled in the Milan-Cortina Games, but his facecard is pure gold.
The 27-year-old snowboarder made his second Olympic appearance at these Winter Games after competing in the Men’s Snowboard Halfpipe (where he finished in 8th place) at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.
Once again, Pates represented Team USA in the Men’s Snowboard Halfpipe, where he once again claimed the 8th spot. That he made it to the Games at all shows how much grit the young athlete has, having previously stepped away from the sport due to injuries, only to make a comeback in time to qualify for the Olympics.
Not only is he an incredible athlete, but he’s a certified cutie who isn’t afraid to show what he’s working on social media. From videos of him shirtless flipping on the slopes to chilling and showing off his tattoos, this athlete earns gold for his thirst-trapping skills.
