Jake Pates may not have medaled in the Milan-Cortina Games, but his facecard is pure gold.
The 27-year-old snowboarder made his second Olympic appearance at these Winter Games after competing in the Men’s Snowboard Halfpipe (where he finished in 8th place) at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.
Once again, Pates represented Team USA in the Men’s Snowboard Halfpipe, where he once again claimed the 8th spot. That he made it to the Games at all shows how much grit the young athlete has, having previously stepped away from the sport due to injuries, only to make a comeback in time to qualify for the Olympics.
Not only is he an incredible athlete, but he’s a certified cutie who isn’t afraid to show what he’s working on social media. From videos of him shirtless flipping on the slopes to chilling and showing off his tattoos, this athlete earns gold for his thirst-trapping skills.

Dutch speed skater Joep Wennemars’ dreams of Olympic gold may have been crushed at the Milano Cortina Winter Games, but he’s still getting attention for an entirely different reason.
Wennemars may have skills on the ice, but gay fans have been obsessed not with his performance in races but with his impressive peach.
The Team Netherlands athlete quickly went viral after competing in the Speed Skating Men's 500m when everyone got a peek at his cake and was shocked by what he’s packing back there.
After the popularity of Heated Rivalry, everyone knows that hockey builds a mouth-watering bum, but the 2026 Olympics taught gay fans across the globe that speed skating created an even bigger peach, and instead of being covered up by hockey pants, their derrieres are on display in the skin-tight uniforms speed skaters wear during competition.
Wennemars isn’t even the first Olympic speed skater fans have been thirsting over. American speed skater Jordan Stolz went viral earlier in the week when people watching the competition were struck by just how juicy his tush is.
From people noticing that “all of the speed skaters have this build” to fans calling their booties "thique," fans haven’t stopped thirsting over Wennemars.

Team USA just took home the gold in the gayest hockey final in the history of the Olympics!
It was a nail-biting game that went into overtime, but the U.S. women’s hockey team pulled it out in the end with a 2-1 victory over Team Canada.
The two rival teams have faced off against each other in seven of the eight gold-medal games since women’s hockey was added to the Olympics in 1998, but the Milano Cortina Winter Games had the most out LGBTQ+ players on the ice in the final, in history.
The exciting game had a history-making nine openly queer players fighting it out for their home countries on the ice.
Team USA’s queer roster was made up of Cayla Barnes, Alex Carpenter, and team captain Hilary Knight, while Team Canada’s roster included Erin Ambrose, Emily Clark, Brianna Jenner, Emerance Maschmeyer, and wives Marie-Philip Poulin and Laura Stacey.
This win for the United States perfectly capped off the Winter Games for Team USA captain Hilary Knight, who also proposed to U.S. speed skater Brittney Bowe while they were both competing in Italy.
