James Ross, better known to fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race as season two winner Tyra Sanchez, is expressing his frustrations with the perpetuation of outrage and scandal by the media after news of his recent arrest last month hit the internet.

Ross allegedly struggled and threatened to shoot a police officer after his involvement in a minor car accident in Florida on May 17. He was charged with resisting an officer without violence and simple assault on an officer, according to Entertainment Weekly.

TMZ further reported that he yelled at officers, was unfazed by a taser, and tried to flee the scene.

After the news began circulating, Ross took to Twitter to clarify that he is not in jail and asked people to stop with the rumors and speculation.”

“Standby while I sue @StarkePoliceDep,” he added.

Ross then went on to share his frustrations with publications referring to him with she/her pronouns due to his drag queen persona (misgendering celebrity blogger B. Scott in an attempt to make his point) and slamming the lack of coverage for anything else he does.

“I announced a tour in February, did you cover that? I did an interview in March. Did you cover that?” he asked, directing his ire at journalists who reached out to him for a statement. “Unless you’re paying at minimum 1k for my time, stay out my inbox.”

“Now, cover that story,” he added.
