(I have to give a little disclaimer: Thursday night there was a lightening storm in Fresno, which of course struck the main system for the only internet provider for downtown Fresno. As of Friday night, we thought that we were not going to be able to bring you a live broadcast at all. However, between Philip Minton from Unite the Fight and myself, we worked it out! The connection is just short of what is needed, so if we have any technical difficulties, I give my apologies in advance, and appreciate your patience.) Thanks!
Check here for videos of the West Hollywood march that occurred following the California supreme court's decision to uphold the anti-gay marriage ballot. We also shot video of Wednesday's demonstration outside the Beverly Hilton, during which protestors demanded President Barack Obama weigh in on Prop 8 and repeal the DOMA and "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
On May 30th, the 1st Saturday after the California Supreme Court upheld Prop 8, a statewide and national effort toward full federal equality kicks off in Fresno with the Meet in the Middle rally.
SheWired will be in Fresno for the historic event, and we will be broadcasting live video throughout the event for anyone who can't make it. On the Saturday of the event, there is a march from Selma, CA to Fresno, CA (17 miles) that ends on the steps of Fresno City Hall around 1:00 pm.
At 1:00 pm everyone gathered -- and viewing live on SheWired -- will hear from celebrities and community leaders all showing their support and fighting for equality. Along with all the live coverage, we will also have video interviews and photo coverage being posted during the rally. There will also be after-party celebrations around Fresno with SheWired VIP rooms which we will also broadcast live!
