5 Reasons Men Shouldn't Be Ashamed To Wear Makeup
As gender norms become less rigid, men of all sexual orientations are feeling more comfortable wearing makeup. In 2014, 6.3 billion dollars were spent on male grooming products in the United States. For reference, 2.7 billion dollars was spent in 1997. Clearly, the taboo of men wearing makeup is (slowly) disappearing. About time. No man should ever be ashamed of wearing makeup.
Here’s why:
1. It looks fabulous
If you like wearing makeup and think you look even more beautiful than you usually do, then why not slap some on?
2. It can boost confidence
Wearing make up can raise a guy’s self-esteem and make him feel more secure.
3. It’s fun
Sometimes, the best part of going out isn’t the actual club. It’s getting all dressed and made-up.
4. It’s a new look
Looking the same all the time can get boring, and buying new clothing doesn’t always fit the bill. Wearing makeup can definitely give you a new look.
5. It’s fashionable
Male celebrities have jumped on the makeup train. Who doesn’t want to be in the company of Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck, and Daniel Craig?
So if you like makeup and want to paint your face, go for it. You’ve got absolutely nothing to be ashamed about.
