There's a new Disney Princess coming to theaters next year and People Magazine has the scoop on her story, as well as the triumphant tale of the young newcomer who will be playing the soon-to-be iconic role. 14-year-old Auli'i Cravalho is a Hawaiin native from Oahu who wasn't even sure she should audition in the first place. However, when an agent who had seen her perform in a charity competition insisted she give it a shot, Auli'i proved she has what it takes, and this video where she learns she got the role is so adorable you might even get a little emotional about it:
Moana tells the story of "a young teen from 2,000 years ago who sets sail to fulfill her ancestors' quest," co-stars Dwayne Johnson, and features music by Broadway composer Lin-Manuel Miranda. It will be released on November 23, 2016, so we have plenty of time to get even more excited. Welcome to the Disney family, Auli'i and Moana!
