We've already talked about snack foods that are surprisingly vegan. Now, it's time to talk about some tasty and easy vegan breakfast foods (you know, since breakfast is the best and most important meal of the day!). By no means is this list intended to convert everyone to veganism (although in an ideal world that'd be cool), but what it is intended to do is offer people cruelty-free choices, so that they can make small changes that make a big difference, particularly for our friends in the animal kingdom.
Veganism might feel extreme, but if you ease your way into it, cutting meat, dairy, and other animal-harming products from your diet is much simpler than it seems — especially with these tasty foods that will make you (and animals) feel aweome!
1. Almond Milk (Vanilla)
Choosing almond (or soy) milk over dairy milk shows that you're standing up to the cruel dairy industry that places cows in a vicious cycle of captivity, rape, separation, violence, and death. Among many unsupervised injustices facing dairy cows, one that is particularly heart-wrenching includes the fact that their life spans become a fraction of what they'd live normally due to the stress inflicted on their body and mind. Dairy cows are repeatedly impregnated throughout their lives to keep their milk flowing, but are ALWAYS separated from their baby, which causes them immense distress. It's a terrible life, but one small choice shakes the industry more and more and gives hope to these beautiful animals, who feel and love just as any dog or cat does.
2. Fruity Pebbles
This is the perfectly sweet cereal for if you like fruit flavors, but don't fancy the idea of eating nothing but fruit in the morning.
3. Cap'n Crunch
This classic cereal has been a favorite for a long time, and for a reason. It's delicious and addictive, and best of all, it's completely free of any animal-harming ingredients.
4. Reese's Puffs
This one blows my mind. It's a chocolatey cereal without any milk or dairy products in it. Honestly, it's a blessing from up above and perfect for people like me who wake up with a sweet tooth.
5. Clif Bars
These were covered in the last vegan snacks post, but they also double as an efficient yet tasty breakfast on-the-go if you're the type who wakes up too late to have actual breakfast (i.e. most people).
6. Kashi's Heart To Heart Instant Oatmeal
If neither cereal or granola are your thing, you can always rely on a nice, hot bowl of oatmeal!
7. A Fruit Smoothie
You probably already have someone in your life enjoying the benefits of a nice, healthy fruit smoothie every morning. Ask them about it, and they'll probably tell you how great it makes them feel. The best kind, of course, is homemade.
Now that you know these delicious breakfast staples are cruelty-free, would you consider going vegan? Let us know in the comments and on Twitter!
