Does it seem like it's been far too long since you saw Angelica Ross on your television screen? The actress says there is a very infuriating reason for that — and it's one of the reasons she is currently on strike.

The Pose star shared a story on Twitter about how an unfair contract stalled and stifled her career and is making it difficult for her to earn a living in Hollywood.

“I was under a 7-year contract with FX in what they call ‘first position,’” she began. “As a series regular, I could not work anywhere else without getting network approval. While working on AHS season 10 I was told I would be returning to Season 11 and was put on hold for several months.”

At first glance that may not seem to be an issue, but Ross explained how that contract hold ended up having a massive negative impact on her career and livelihood. “During this time Marvel called a few times asking about my availability. By the time FX released me, Marvel stopped calling. Now it’s been years since I have had an acting job. This is also why we are striking,” she concluded.

While unconfirmed there is speculation that that the role in question was for Marvel Studios’ Disney Plus series Loki which three years ago was reportedly looking to introduce the MCU’s first transgender superhero, a warrior named Sera. At the time Ross was rumored to be a contender for the role, which would have been a huge and groundbreaking opportunity for the actress.

No wonder Ross has joined the SAG-AFTRA strike picket line, along with many other actors and writers. Those striking are seeking better pay, improved streaming residuals, and regulations around the use of AI to replicate performers.
