We got our first glimpse into Dune: Part Twoat CinemaCon in Las Vegas, and it's a dune-sy.

Timotheé Chalamet and Zendaya's epic dystopian universe film originally premiered in 2021 to rave reviews. "A noble family becomes embroiled in a war for control over the galaxy's most valuable asset while its heir becomes troubled by visions of a dark future," the official description reads.

Without giving away too many spoilers, Part Two picks up right where Part One left off, and Vanity Fair has the exclusive sneak peek of a few of the characters.

Director Denis Villeneuve made sure to point out that the "war epic action movie” is not a sequel, but "a second part. There’s a difference. I wanted the movie to really open just where we left the characters. There’s no time jump. I wanted dramatic continuity with part one.”

Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Austin Butler are joining the cast of the franchise. Butler will play the lethal Harkonnen prince Feyd-Rautha and his appearance is shocking fans on social media. “Austin Butler brought to the screen something that would be a cross between a psychotic, sociopath serial killer and Mick Jagger.”

Many Zendaya fans were disappointed that the Euphoria star was only in fifteen minutes of the last film, but audiences will certainly see more of her in Part Two. Chalamet says that her character is "the key to his own."

“The universe of Dune is a complex world of geopolitics and with tons of ecological and technological metaphors that hold up today,” Chalamet explained. “But at the center, there’s this relationship where Chani sort of becomes a moral compass. Even to say that out loud feels kind of huge, and she’s really the humanizing, grounding force to that,”

Zendaya agreed, adding "I think something we can all relate to is just love. These characters literally live on another planet, right? They’re aliens. It was interesting finding these tender moments in such turmoil and chaos. These characters are just young people forced into really, really intense circumstances.”

The trailer for Dune: Part Two premiered at CinemaCon but has yet to be released online. According to Yahoo News, "it shows Paul riding a massive sandworm, features a voiceover from Florence Pugh's Princess Corino, and gives us our first look at Austin Butler's Feyd-Rautha in action."

Dune: Part Two premieres November 3, 2023 in theaters.
