5 Reasons We Wish Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Were Actually Our Sisters
I know that Star Wars is coming out this weekend and everyone is freaking out, but for those of us who aren't into Star Wars, we should celebrate Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's new movie, Sisters.
Seriously, though, how awesome would it be to have them as your sisters?
1. They actually play sisters.
Most Tina Fey/Amy Poehler fans can agree on one thing: the duo is great individually, but when paired together, they are magical. In a dream world, they are actually related, and the cool older sisters you've always wanted to have.
2. Friendship never ends (like the Spice Girls, said. Remember?)
Seriously, though, it's hard to make friends when you're an adult, and it's hard to find time to see your family because of #adulting responsibilities. It's cool to see a movie depict the closeness between two sisters, and how important that relationship can be in your life.
3. They both have really awesome books
Tina Fey wrote Bossypants and Amy Poehler wrote Yes Please. They both provide intimate details on how they made it into the comedy world, from the improv world to Saturday Night Live.
4. They're empowering the women around them
Amy Poehler is an executive producer on Broad City, and she started up Amy Poehler's Smart Girls, an online community for young girls that encourages women to be themselves. Tina Fey created and produced Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and wrote Mean Girls (one of the best movies of all time, obvs). They are both creating more spaces and positions for women in Hollywood.
5. Plus, they're two of the smartest/funniest women in Hollywood
Enough said.
