The devil works hard, but Emmy-winning TV legend Ryan Murphydefinitely works harder!
As if the mastermind behind some of our all-time fave shows like American Horror Story and Pose wasn't already busy enough bringing us brand new queer content to binge and enjoy during this seemingly unending pandemic (we're so looking forward to Ratched and The Boys in the Band), the writer, director, and producer extraordinaire has another new project for us to look forward to on the horizon, and the cast is absolutely packed with stars!
Coming to the streaming giant on December 11, The Prom is Mr. Murphy's latest film that features an A-List ensemble that includes Oscar winners Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman, alongside some of our other faves like Little Fires Everywhere star Kerry Washington, comedians Keegan-Michael Key and James Corden, The Book of Mormon star Andrew Rannels, and newcomer Jo Ellen Pellman!
"On December 11, let Netflix take you to The Prom you didn’t get this year," Murphy wrote in a post on his social media accounts.
Based on the hit musical/comedy of the same name, The Prom tells the story of how a bunch of down-on-their-luck Broadway stars try to help a lesbian high school student (played by Pellman) in Indiana after she was banned from taking her girlfriend to her prom. Of course, the production is filled with tons of musical moments and both comedy AND drama definitely ensue, so we can't wait to see what this amazing cast brings to the story!
Get ready to go to The Prom when it drops on Netflix on December 11!
