Myra Stratton, Fox's longterm girlfriend and manager, has passed away from cancer.

Sad news for Sam Fox, the most famous British glamour model of the 1980s, who later moved on to a successful music career. Fox was initially romantically linked to men early in her career, but tongues began wagging when she judged a lesbian beauty pageant in 1999. Rumors abounded that she was in a relationship with Cris Bonacci, her then-roommate and one-time guitarist for rock band Girlschool, but neither woman confirmed or denied these during the time they were together (although Bonacci admitted they'd been together during an interview after they'd split up).

Fox finally spoke out about her sexuality in 2003 when she started dating Myra, issuing a statement which said: ""I have slept with other women but I've not been in love before Myra Stratton. People say I'm gay....I don't know what I am. All I know is that I'm in love with Myra [Stratton, my manager]. I love her completely and want to spend the rest of my life with her."

A statement released today said: “It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Myra Stratton. She was Samantha Fox’s partner and manager for the last 16 years. She bravely fought cancer for the last two years but lost her battle on Sunday. Samantha asks for privacy as she grieves.”
