The streets of Los Angeles will be filled with an expected 30,000 people this Sunday for the 27th annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles. The event benefits AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA), an organization working to improve the lives of people affected by HIV/AIDS, reduce new HIV infections and advocate for fair and effective HIV-related public policy.
Each year the funds raised for AIDS Walk Los Angeles make it possible for APLA to provide food, safe housing, medical and dental care and more to those living with HIV/AIDS facing poverty, hunger and homelessness.
Some familiar faces are expected among this year’s participants including Pauley Perrette (NCIS), Dot Marie Jones (Glee), Cloris Leachman (Raising Hope), Conchatta Ferrell (Two and a Half Men), with Jenifer Lewis closing the opening ceremony by singing Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

The event takes place Sunday, October 16 at West Hollywood Park, on San Vicente Blvd. between Santa Monica Blvd. and Melrose Ave. The opening ceremony begins at 9:15 am, and the walk begins at 10:00 am. For more information, visit the AIDS Walk Los Angeles website.
