Beloved actor Chadwick Boseman, who recently starred in critically acclaimed films like Da 5 Bloods and Black Panther, passed away at the age of 43 after fighting a four-year battle with colon cancer.

"A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much," Chadwick's family said in a statement to the Associated Press after an official statement was posted online to his various social media accounts. "From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more — all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther."

Naturally, news of Chadwick's passing rocked the world on Friday night, and many people were quick to express their condolences and pay tribute to the talented actor online, including his Marvel costars, like Captain Marvel's Brie Larson, Thor: Ragnarok's Chris Hemsworth, Captain America himself Chris Evans, screen legend Angela Bassett (who played Chadwick's on-screen mother in BP) and many more.

Rest in power, Chadwick.
