Heathers’ star
Winona Ryder was rushed to the hospital following an in-flight mystery illness on a plane bound for London forced the pilot to make a priority landing Wednesday.
Now, The Daily Mailis reporting that Ryder, a notorious bad flyer, suffered a reaction to popping too many Xanax to help ease her in-flight anxiety.
Ryder collapsed twice on British Airways flight 282, causing what the Mail called a mid-air emergency.
"The captain of BA282, which was travelling from LA to Heathrow, requested a priority landing as a female passenger required medical attention,” said a British Airways spokesperson.
Ryder, 37, was rushed to nearby Hillingdon Hospital in West London upon landing at Heathrow. Members of the ground crew accompanied the Girl Interrupted star to the hospital, according to the Mail.
While Ryder’s publicist Mara Buxbaum, admitted the star became sick during the flight, she failed to comment on the actress’s medication intake.
'She did fall ill on a plane and as a precautionary measure they took her to hospital,’ Buxbaum said. “She was there for an hour. She's in good health. There's no drama.'
When Ryder was picked up for her infamous shoplifting spree at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York in 2001, authorities recovered prescription drugs for which she had no prescription.
