The fun never stops with anti-gay marriage supporter, Miss California Carrie Prejean, who’s now at the center of a controversy involving a topless photo of her that could cost the pageant beauty her title.
When the semi-nude pic surfaced on
TheDirty.com Monday, Prejean wasted no time responding that she was 17 when the pic was taken, a move that
Access Hollywood asserted would make media outlets less likely to air the photo.
The Miss California USA organization said it was “shocked” by the photo and that it believed the images were shot between the time of now-21-year-old Carrie’s breast augmentation and the Miss USA Pageant, which would be roughly 10 weeks ago, according to
Access. Prejean said she feels that her stance on traditional marriages has made her a target. “I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures including lingerie and swimwear photos.”
However, Prejean’s Miss California USA contract prohibits nudity, stating “appearing in public or permitting myself to be photographed in a state of partial or total nudity or in a lewd, compromising or sexually suggestive manner constitutes a violation of this provision (this includes photographs of images that may appear on any Web site, such as
MySpace of
Facebook).”
A decision regarding Prejean’s future with the pageant is expected within the next few days, according to
Access.
