Actress and LGBT ally Kristen Bell speaks out in a video for the Human Rights Campaign’s American’s for Marriage Equality series.

Bell, the former Veronica Mars star, voice of the “Gossip Girl" and current House of Lies costar, is engaged to Parenthood’s Dax Shepherd.

Earlier this year Bell spoke with the Advocate about her engagement in relation to marriage equality.

"The reason we’re not rushing to get married is because I don’t feel appropriate taking advantage of a right that’s denied to my best friends," she said. "That’s why we’ve been so hesitant. Dax and I have talked about it a lot, and this issue is very important to both of us. We’re just standing up for what we believe in."

In her HRC video Bell said, “It breaks my heart that my heart that millions of gay Americans still can’t marry the one they love.
