Despite her meteoric rise to the top of the fashion world at just the young age of 23, superstar Cara Delevingne has decided to call it quits from modeling, subsequently breaking the hearts of style enthusiasts everywhere who regard her as a modern day muse.

In a recent interview with The Times, the openly bisexual model cited the reason she’s “not doing fashion anymore” was because of the toll it is taking on her, both physically and mentally, and how she always felt “constantly on edge.”

“It is a mental thing as well because if you hate yourself and your body and the way you look, it just gets worse and worse,” the now former supermodel said. “Modeling just made me feel a bit hollow after a while. It didn’t make me grow at all as a human being, and I kind of forgot how young I was. I felt so old.”

While we know that not everything lasts forever, we’re actually quite shocked at how quickly Cara made the decision to step away from all things modeling. She’s so young, and she’s so damn good at it! And wasn’t she just featured on the cover of American Vogue?! We’re not sure just how serious Cara is being about quitting the industry that made her famous in the first place, but there a few things that are certain.

We’ll miss her trademark smize…

…and the way only she could make even the simplest, most minimal garments look incredibly sexy.

We’ll miss how easy it is for her to go from girly girl…

…to total badass.

We’ll, without a doubt, miss seeing her work with other iconic people in the fashion industry…

…and we’ll definitely miss how effortlessly chic she always looked in all of the modeling campaigns she’s ever done.Say it ain’t so, Cara! Hopefully her acting career will take off, so this won’t be the last we see of her. Hopefully.
