Gowns are overrated!

So many fierce lewks were served during this year's 91st annual Academy Awards, and although the expectation during fancy, A-list events like the Oscars is for women to dress up in a gown, we love it when some people stick a middle finger to that old-school notion and rock pants instead. And these 5 badass women did not disappoint! (Who says menswear is only for men?!)
Melissa McCarthy

The Best Actress nominee and Can You Forgive Me? star wore a black and white jumpsuit (complete with a cape!!) from designer Brandon Maxwell.
Awkwafina

Crazy Rich Asians and Ocean's 8 breakout star slayed a glittery lavender suit by Dsquared².
Amy Poehler

Comedic legend Amy Poehler rocked all-black everything in a pantsuit from Alberta Ferretti.
Elsie Fisher

Eighth Grade's Elsie Fisher keep it classic in a black, Thom Browne suit.
Sandy Powell

The Oscar-winning designer who created costumes this year for The Favourite and Mary Queen of Scots showed up and showed off in a patterned suit that proves menswear isn't just for men.
Jennifer Hudson

The Oscar winner looked oh-so dapper in a black tux (complete with a fabulous train that goes on forever!) as she performed the song "I'll Fight" from the documentary RBG.
