A married Southwest Airlines pilot has apologized for accidentally broadcasting an obscenity-laden rant in which he complained that he found none of the flight attendants suitable for dating. James Fritzen Taylor's conversation with his copilot occurred in March and led to his being suspended and enrolled in diversity training. The conversation went on for four minutes and obstructed communication between pilots and air traffic controllers in the Houston area. With his microphone accidentally turned on, Taylor was caught criticizing flight attendants, whom he described as "gays, grannies, and grandes."

Members of a union representing 9,400 Southwest Airlines flight attendants say they are angered and disappointed by the remarks made by a pilot who used homophobic, misogynistic, and ageist terms to refer to members of his flight crew. TWU Local 556 president Thom McDaniel said Tuesday that the airline's management did not do enough to punish the pilot whose words were broadcast to several other pilots and air traffic control operators.

This week Lifetime’s Project Runway will return to the little screen, and if the previous nine seasons are any indication, it will be choc-a-block with queer contestants, including Gunnar Deatherage, who was eliminated in the first episode last season and is (surprise!) back again.
