Josh Duhamel has reprised his role as Jack Spier of Love, Simon in season 2 of Love, Victor!
Light spoilers below!
You certainly remember him from the original film as the sympathetic father to who Simon struggled to come out. Now, Jack Spier is a member of their town's local PFLAG (Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) group.
Duhamel makes his cameo in episode 3, "There's No Gay in Team." Victor's father Armando is seeking help from other parents after Victor comes out as gay to him and his wife Isabel, who is actively struggling with the revelation. Having been through it all before, Jack is the perfect person to speak to and after the meeting, the two grab a beer.
"Every time I open up my mouth, I'm scared I might say something to make my son hate me," Armando tells Jack in a moving heart to heart.
"Before Simon told me he was gay, I had a whole idea for his life," Jack replies. "What kind of girls he would date and the kind advice I would give. When he came out, I realized those were my hopes, not his, and I had to let them go. And once I did, I realized there were a lot of ways that you can be a man."
