The 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards are just around the corner, and star-studded news just keeps getting better. GLAAD announced today that Ellen Page will be presenting Orange is the New Black star and one of our favorite people Laverne Cox with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, given to LGBT media professionals who have made a difference in the promotion of equality. Ellen previously listed Laverne as one of her inspirations during the HRC speech in which she came out, so this pairing is pretty much perfect.

In case you're wondering why has Laverne Cox been picked to recieve the highest honor,  GLAAD President & CEO Sarah Kate Ellis explains perfectly: "Laverne Cox has reshaped the way Americans see transgender people and raised the bar in diverse representations of the LGBT community in entertainment...She is not only a talented actress, but a truly transformative leader in the LGBT equality movement. Through her tireless commitment to building understanding and acceptance through aducation and advocacy, Laverne is moving equality forward both on and off the screen." We couldn't agree more!

In addition,Jennifer Lopez, who in addition to be an international superstar produced ABC Family's The Fosters, will receive the Vanguard Award, and Fosters stars Teri Polo and Sherri Saum are listed as special guests. The ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on April 12th at the Beverly Hilton.
