Rosie O'Donnell Will Reprise Role as Big-Hearted Social Worker on The Fosters

Rosie's back!

Never fear if you loved Rosie O’Donnell as Rita, the big-hearted social worker who gives the best advice, on The Fosters. Rosie will reprise her role for two episodes in the second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

While it’s great news that Rosie will be back it may signal bad news for Maia Mitchell’s character Callie, since Rita’s presence may mean Callie is not quite out of the system. Fingers crossed that’s not the case and that Rita just made friends with lesbian moms Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum).

Rosie will appear in two episodes in August, according to THR.

Executive produced by Jennifer Lopez and created by Peter Paige and Bradley Bredeweg, The Fosters was honored with a GLAAD award earlier this month.
