Ellen DeGeneres let loose that de Rossi landed a role on ABC's mega-hit!

Hold on to your Olivia Pope-inspired Ferragamo cream wool coat because Portia de Rossi is slated for an arc on Scandal’s upcoming season!

Like any supportive spouse might do, Ellen DeGeneres got super excited and let loose on Twitter that de Rossi had landed the coveted gig.

Unfortunately, like all things in Shonda Rhimes' world, de Rossi’s role on Scandal is completely under wraps, so we’ll all just have to try to imagine what she’ll get up. Personally, we’d like to see her face off with Bellamy Young’s territorial First Lady Mellie Grant.

Scandal won’t be the first time de Rossi has stepped into a series with a strong, distinctive voice. She’s starred in modern classics including Ally McBeal, Arrested Development, and Nip/Tuck, but it’s been a while since de Rossi’s really had a role she could sink her teeth into (Netflix’s release of a new season of Arrested Development didn’t quite cut it). Here’s to watching de Rossi mix it up in the capital city!
