The Freeheld promotional experience is everything we need and more.

Add this captivatingOut Magazine cover to the endless list of reasons why Freeheld is our most anticipated film of the year. The film's stars, Julianne Moore and Ellen Page (as if you didn't know already after our literal years of coverage on this movie), are not only utterly electric together but eager to spread the message of love and self-acceptance that being a part of Freeheld brought into their lives. As Ellen mentioned previously, Freeheld - based on the true story of Stacie Andree and Laurel Hester, partners fought for equal pension after Laurel's cancer diagnosis - helped her come out as a lesbian herself, and the real-life Stacie and Laurel were key players in the fight for marriage equality that was finally won in June of this year. A film with this much importance behind it, not to mention this unmatched cast, is definitely not one to be missed.

You can and should read Out's entire, in-depth article at this link, but first check out this poster and get even more excited for the October 2nd theaterical release of Freeheld

As Ellen candidly states in the interview, "I remember thinking, Ellen, how in God’s name could you make this film and not be out?...What’s interesting to me is how long it took to make the movie — for it to finally come together — and how my internal progression toward coming out was naturally in line with it. Stacie and Laurel’s story is incredibly inspiring and did take a lot of courage, particularly in a time of such unimaginable difficulty. It really did make me go, Dude, just tell people you’re gay. Just get over yourself, honestly, and support those who are not as privileged. It’s like, You have fucking privilege, so do something with it.”
